UPDATE 5/18/16: The tool library has a space! It's not huge, but it's a start. Located at 996 Cattle Point Rd, a small shed is home to all the tools currently listed in the newly updated inventory that you can come and borrow at no charge. The area surrounding(driveway/parking) still needs some work, but it'll get there. Updated website coming soon. -Carter Fuehr

What is a Tool Library?

The same basic principles apply as with a regular book library, but with tools. The difference being that tools can be much more dangerous than books as well as more expensive. Typically, all the tools are stored in a central location and lent out to trained members for a period of time; just like a book library. They have been springing up all over the country....so why not here?

Who are we?

This is a project located in Friday Harbor, Washington and managed by San Juan Island Grange #966. ”Supporting a resilient community of growers, makers and keepers..."

Our Guild is a committee within the Grange, with the task of starting and maintaining the Library. We can be contacted at islandmakersguild@gmail.com.
